COWAY WARRANTY POLICY
(For Malaysia)


Coway (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. ("Coway", "We", "Us" and "Our") provides this warranty (this "Warranty") for Our home appliances and homecare products (collectively, "Products") to the original purchaser/rental customer/subscriber ("You" and "Your"). This Warranty is valid only in the country of purchase/rental/subscription.


1. PRODUCT TYPE AND WARRANTY PERIOD


For Product(s) You purchased, the warranty period is as follows:

*Each warranty period commences from the Product’s installation date.
*The warranty period may differ depending on the promotion applicable to the Product at the time of purchase.
*Except for parts covered under the Specific Parts Warranty Period, all other parts are only covered during the General Warranty Period. Any repairs or services required after this period, including costs for replacement parts, labour, and transportation, will be chargeable.
*Replaced Products and/or parts are covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period, with no extension or separate warranty.

*The Rental Period is as stipulated in Your Sales Order Form/Corporate Rental Agreement with Us.
*Except for parts covered under the Specific Parts Warranty Period, all other parts are only covered during the General Warranty Period. After expiry of the General Warranty Period, labour, transportation and other service charges shall be chargeable, notwithstanding any remaining coverage under the Specific Parts Warranty Period.
*Replaced Products and/or parts are covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period, with no extension or separate warranty.

2. WHAT IS COVERED AND NOT COVERED/EXCLUDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY


WHAT IS COVERED

This Warranty only covers Product issues caused solely by defects in materials or workmanship during ordinary consumer use.


WHAT IS NOT COVERED/EXCLUDED

This Warranty does not cover/excludes any defect, damage, malfunction, performance issue, loss or claim caused by, arising from, relating to, or resulting from reasons or circumstances not related to defects in materials and workmanship, including but not limited to:


    General (applicable to all Product types):

  1. cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, chips, stains, discoloration, and other imperfections to the Product’s appearance or finish that are not reported to Coway at the time of installation and acceptance of the Product;

  2. normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Product, including its parts or accessories;

  3. Product wherein its original serial numbers have been removed, altered, defaced or not readily determined;

  4. acts of God, flood, fire, lightning or other natural disasters, wars, abnormal voltage output/unexpected surge in electrical power or other events/causes beyond Coway’s control;

  5. misuse, abuse, improper or incorrect use or operation of the Product, including its parts, or other activities inconsistent with the Product’s user manual or contradictory to the technical specifications relating to the Product;

  6. unauthorised repairs, modifications, disassembly, alterations, variations or adjustments to the Product, or the installation, relocation or removal of the Product by You or any third party other than Coway or its authorised service provider;

  7. the use of non-genuine Coway filters, parts or accessories;

  8. failure to perform routine, preventive or recommended maintenance of the Product in accordance with the user manual, Coway’s instructions or recommended service requirements (including replacement of consumable parts such as water or air filters (where applicable), and cleaning of the Product);

  9. mechanical or electrical damage to the Product resulting from incorrect installation, configuration, usage, inadequate or improper voltage or current;

  10. any negligence or mishandling by You or a third party not authorised by Coway;

  11. damage or malfunction caused by pets, animals, and/or pests, or resulting from their presence or involvement;

  12. damage or malfunction caused by exposure to chemical substances, oil mist, excessive heat, excessive dust, excessive humidity, abrasive materials, or any other corrosive surroundings/environment;

  13. damage or malfunction arising from changes in the use, condition or environment of Your premises/location after installation of the Product, including alterations to plumbing, electrical systems or ventilation, that impact the suitability of the premises/location where the Product is installed;


  14. More specifically for water-related Products (Water Purifiers, Bidets, Water Softeners, Outdoor Water Filters (POEs) etc.):

  15. environmental factors at the location where the Product was/is installed, including but not limited to characteristics of the local water source or supply that may vary over time or by geographical region;

  16. damage resulting from leaky, broken, worn-out, frozen, improperly installed, unsecured water pipes or its connecting parts, restricted drain lines, inadequate or interrupted water supply;

  17. water leakage or damage caused by Your use of other appliances with the Product including a dishwasher, ice-maker for refrigerator, faucet or any of its connecting parts;

  18. damage to floor caused by water leakage from cock and gutter due to failure to make proper routine or preventive maintenance;


  19. More specifically for air-related Products (Air Purifiers and Air Conditioners):

  20. damage caused by inadequate or interrupted supply of air;

  21. malfunction or reduced performance (including reduced cooling performance of Air Conditioners) resulting from Your failure to adhere to installation recommendations, including but not limited to room size and the positioning/location of the Product or its parts;

  22. where used for industrial purpose(s);


  23. More specifically for Mattresses, Bedframes and/or Smart Mattresses:

  24. firmness and/or comfort preference;

  25. cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, stains on/discoloration to the fabric, soiling, fluid penetration, infestation, tears, loose threads, burn marks, fungus or mould on the Product;

  26. damage/injury caused by insects such as mites, bugs or wood worms;

  27. surface deterioration, discoloration or softening of filling composites caused by exposure to sunlight, contamination of solvents or chemical substances;

  28. mattress sagging measuring less than 1.5 inches when measured without load in accordance with Coway’s inspection or testing methodology, and damage caused by the use of an improper or unsuitable bedframe;

  29. interruption, instability, or failure of network connectivity (including Wi-Fi or Bluetooth), and any issues arising therefrom, where such issues are not attributable to defects in the smart mattress hardware;

  30. loss, corruption, inaccuracy or inaccessibility of personal data or sleep-tracking information, where such issue is not caused by a defect in the smart mattress’s internal storage or processing components;

  31. any malfunction, connectivity issue, performance issue or incompatibility caused by third-party applications, devices, or integrations not provided or approved by Coway;

  32. use of the Product for commercial or industrial purpose(s);


  33. More specifically for Massage Chairs, Mine, Pebble and/or Massage Beds:

  34. comfort or strength of massage preference;

  35. surface deterioration, discoloration or softening of filling composites caused by exposure to sunlight, contamination of solvents or chemical substances;

  36. where used for commercial, industrial, institutional, hospitality, rental or other non-domestic purposes, unless otherwise approved by Coway;


  37. More specifically for Washer Dryers:

  38. damage or malfunction caused by improper cleaning method, including the use of unsuitable chemicals, detergents or cleaning agents;

  39. malfunction or reduced performance due to poor water source quality;

  40. where used for commercial or industrial purpose(s);


  41. More specifically for Refrigerators:

  42. damage to plastic, glass, removable, decorative or consumable components, including but not limited to ice boxes, shelves or trays, drawers, door balconies, filters and other similar accessories;

  43. odours, smells or dissatisfaction arising from the storage of food, beverages or other items, including any customer preference relating to odour control;

  44. damage caused by food, liquid or chemical spills;

  45. damage arising from self-installation, self-servicing, self-repair or replacement of filters, components or parts by You or any third party other than Coway or its authorised service provider.



The costs for repair services, including cost of parts, labour charges and transportation costs under these excluded reasons/circumstances shall be solely borne by You.



3. HOW TO SUBMIT A WARRANTY CLAIM

To submit a Warranty claim, contact Us via:

  1. Our toll-free Careline at 1800-888-111; or
  2. Log in to www.coway.com.my, and:
    1. send Us an enquiry; or
    2. chat live with Our operator.

Monday-Friday: 9:00am-6:00pm / Saturday: 9:00am-1:00pm / Sunday: Closed


To obtain Warranty related services, Your claim must be properly submitted during the Warranty Period and not more than thirty (30) days from the date of discovery of a defect. Your claim shall be supported by a brief description of the incident/alleged defect(s), including proof of the alleged defect(s) (i.e. photos/videos). You must punctually permit Coway’s representative/authorised technician to inspect and conduct diagnostic tests on the Product to determine the cause of the alleged defect(s). Coway's determination of cause of defect shall be final and conclusive. If Coway determines that the Product contains a defect in material or workmanship, Coway will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the defective component(s)/part(s) (which may include refurbished component(s)/part(s) that meet Coway’s quality standards, where appropriate), or the Product. If Coway decides to repair or replace the Product, We will make arrangements for Our authorised technician to visit Your premises to perform the repairs, or to dismantle the Product and install a replacement Product, as the case may be.



4. PRODUCT USE DISCLAIMER

THE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING ANY EMBEDDED SOFTWARE, APPLICATIONS, OR DIGITAL FEATURES (INCLUDING IOCARE+), ARE NOT MEDICAL DEVICES AND ARE NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN THE DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, MITIGATION, CURE, OR PREVENTION OF ANY DISEASE OR MEDICAL CONDITION. COWAY MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING ANY MEDICAL OR HEALTH-RELATED OUTCOMES, OR THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY DATA GENERATED, COLLECTED, OR DISPLAYED THROUGH SUCH SOFTWARE, APPLICATIONS OR DIGITAL FEATURES FOR MEDICAL OR HEALTH-RELATED PURPOSES.



5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THIS WARRANTY AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COWAY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSSES OR DAMAGES (WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE), INCLUDING CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, AND DATA-RELATED DAMAGES, EACH OF WHICH IS EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PROPERTY DAMAGE), ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE PRODUCTS OR FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS ON THE PRODUCTS. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL COWAY BE LIABLE FOR AN AMOUNT GREATER THAN THE ACTUAL PURCHASE PRICE/RENTAL FEES OF THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICE PACKAGE FEES, AS THE CASE MAY BE.

ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE WHETHER BY WAY OF STATUTE, COMMON LAW OR OTHERWISE ARE EXCLUDED.

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER MINOR IMPERFECTIONS IN THE PRODUCTS THAT MEET DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS OR IMPERFECTIONS THAT DO NOT MATERIALLY ALTER THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE PRODUCTS. WE MAKE NO SATISFACTION, PERFORMANCE, RISK-FREE, OR ERROR-FREE GUARANTEES.

THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS SHALL NOT APPLY TO DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS, OR ANY STATUTORY LIABILITY FOR INTENTIONAL OR GROSSLY NEGLIGENT ACTS AND/OR OMISSIONS.



6. GOVERNING LAW

This Warranty shall be governed by, construed and interpreted under, the laws of Malaysia without giving effect to principles of conflicts or choice of law.



7. GENERAL

For the avoidance of doubt, this Warranty shall not extend to anyone other than the original purchaser/rental customer of the Product or subscriber of our service package vis-à-vis the Product, as the case may be; and states Your exclusive remedy.

We reserve the right to vary the coverage or refuse to cover Products which in Our records indicate have reached their "End-of-Life".

No reseller, agent or employee of Coway is authorised to make any modifications, extensions, or additions to this Warranty, unless and until officially published in Our official website (www.coway.com.my).

If any terms of this Warranty are declared void or unenforceable by applicable law, such terms shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary and replaced with valid terms that best embody the intent of these terms, so that these terms remain in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to vary, modify or change the terms and conditions herein due to change(s) in availability of services, products and/or spare parts or for the purposes of complying with applicable policies, rules, regulations and law, with or without notice.
