Coway (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is fully committed to ensuring that all water purifier products are certified Halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) in accordance with Halalan Toyyiban principles and the requirements of Islamic Syariah Law.
To support this commitment, the company has established an Internal Halal Committee (IHC), which is responsible for all matters relating to Halal compliance across the supply chain. This includes material selection, procurement, receipt of raw materials, manufacturing facilities and personnel involved in production processes, as well as the storage and warehousing of products. The IHC continuously assesses and monitors these areas to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and guidelines.
Our Halal-certified products conform with JAKIM’s Halal audit requirements and are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Additionally, our manufacturing facility is accredited with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, demonstrating our commitment to quality, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety.
The Halal Assurance System (HAS) is implemented to ensure the consistency, sustainability, and integrity of Halal production processes in accordance with JAKIM’s requirements and standards.

We’ve Come A Long Way To Deliver Halal-certified Water Purifiers
Halal Control Points (HCPs) are identified at the point where there is potential cross-contamination with any non-halal elements along the process flow in the scope of implementation. Control measures will be implemented at identified HCP to eliminate any non-compliance to the Sharia requirements and HAS implementation.
The identification of a list of approved Halal raw materials and certified suppliers.
Strictly adhering to Halal control measures in the production line of water filters, water purifiers and its accessories.
All equipment and other related items in the production line are Halal and free from non-halal elements.
All halal related workforce has adequate competence in the implementation of HAS within the organisation.
Logistic Control Manager will ensure that the products stored in the approved vendor’s warehouse are free from non-halal elements.
Product Quality Assurance and Quality Control team will ensure that all products to be delivered to Malaysia are according to the halal requirements.
