Attended 2007 Kitchen / Bath Industry Show and Conference in Las Vegas, May 8 ~ 10 (May 8, 2007)


May 8, 2007 (Las Vegas) - Coway, a Korean company that aims to bring wellness and quality of life choices to people everywhere through its filtration and home appliance products, is unveil its new air and water purifiers, megasonic cleaning devices and digital bidets with revolutionary technologies and slim designs at Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) in Las Vegas May 8-10, 2007. Some of the highlights of the exhibition is Coway`s air filtration devices that kill human influenza and Legionella viruses, a red dot award-winning water filtration device and new faucet-type megasonic cleaning devices.



"We are excited about introducing our industry-proven technologies at K/BIS and to the U.S. market," said Joon Kee Hong, the president and CEO of Coway. "Coway has ranked as the best home brand in Korea for five consecutive years, and more than four million Korean customers use our products every day. We think it`s now time to give customers in the U.S. a chance to experience some of the great ways we can help them live healthier, cleaner lives."

Coway`s products include air cleaners, water cleaning devices, megasonic cleaning devices and digital bidets. Coway`s industry-leading market share in Korea ranges from over 50 percent for its water cleaning devices to 40 percent for its air cleaners. Currently, more than one out of four Koreans use Coway water cleaning devices, and one out of ten uses Coway`s air cleaners. The company achieved $1.2 billion in revenue last year.

At K/BIS, Coway`s booth is feature air cleaners that adopt the industry`s most complete and efficient filtration system, removing 99.9 percent of airborne allergens, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and even the Legionella virus, a source of summer illnesses. Coway`s water cleaning devices boasts its five integrated filters that remove impurities such as heavy metals, bacteria and microorganisms. Visitors is also be able to try Coway`s megasonic cleaning devices, which utilize acoustic-based cleaning to removes impurities from surfaces so effectively that users can almost completely eliminate the use of detergent. Coway`s digital bidet is also be introduced as a new way for consumers to maintain complete cleanliness not provided by dry toilet paper.



In May, Coway announced the opening of its first North American subsidiary in Los Angeles. "This move allows us to provide differentiated products to the U.S. market," added Hong. "Coway`s products really fit lifestyles here, as many Americans spend a lot of time indoors, there is wide use of carpeting and many people here have pets. Our air and water products eliminate a great deal of these impurities, and will help bring wellness to many people here in the U.S."

To reach new customers, Coway will employ both dealer networks and direct to customer sales. Coway also plans to adjust the look and functions of its products based on feedback from the U.S. market. After starting with a limited number of outlets in 11 major cities such as Los Angeles and New York, Coway plans to enter major retail outlets by 2008.

Highlights of Coway`s participation at the K/BIS 2007 include:

Air cleaner
AP-1506DH: With Coway`s five filters, pet dander, human hair, dust, germs and other pollutants get thoroughly - and quietly - filtered out. Furthermore, 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria are killed within hours of becoming trapped in the filters. In addition to Coway`s industry-proven HEPA filter, the AP-1506DH allows users to select from an array of customized filters depending on their individual needs. For example, consumers can add in special filters to eliminate Legionella, the cause of many summer illnesses or the human influenza virus, which causes colds and allergies.

Water filtration device
CP-03BR/L: The CP-03BR/L has five integrated filters: sediment, pre-carbon, reverse osmosis membrane, post-carbon and fine filter. These filters eliminate chemicals, microorganisms and many other impurities. Coway`s new water filtration device, CP-03BR/L, features a cutting-edge microcomputer-controlled system to regulate functions and increase stability. It also adopts the convenient feature of providing hot, cold or room temperature water at just the click of a button.

Megasonic cleaning device
Rooche (SWV-05M): Coway`s Rooche (SWV-O5M) is an innovative megasonic cleaning device built into a faucet. It uses sounds waves to remove dirt and chemicals from produce, meats, dishware, pots and pans and flatware, allowing consumers to use little to no detergent or other cleaning solutions.

Digital bidet
BA07-E/R: Coway`s BA07-E/R has an ergonomic design and finish reminiscent of elegant china. Three water stream widths and five nozzle positions can adjust to any user needs, while the bidet`s filter provides clean and pure water. By using water infused with air bubbles, this bidet provides gentle but thorough washing.
