Coway (CEO & President Hong, Joon Kee) held its U.S launch party at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles on May 4, 2007. The 300 attendees included: Woongjin Group Chairman Seok-Keum Yoon, Coway President and CEO Joon Kee Hong, California State Assemblyman Mervyn M. Coway also made donations at the launch party to Los Angeles nonprofit organizations. Koreatown Youth Community Center (KYCC), LA Conservation Corps and Korean Health Education Information and Research Center (KHEIR) were the recipients.

''These donations embody our company philosophy to grow with the surrounding community and not simply pursue profit,” said Yoon Jong Joung, Coway VP and COO. Market researches assured Coway's successful future in the U.S. -- with wide range of products offered to demanding consumers and advanced technology certified by research facilities. Prior to its official launch, Coway provided free customer services for the month of April, drawing favorable reaction from consumers. Coway plans to build the brand on its solid foundation of customer satisfaction. This brand-building effort has been shown through its numerous press conferences and the feedback panel of housewives. ''Coway has set the bar higher in service quality and product maintenance, not only in Korea, but also in Japan, Thailand, China and Malaysia. With the U.S. branch now open,

Coway will become the global brand in personal well-being appliances market,” stated President and CEO Joon Kee Hong. ''The growth in operation in the U.S. will bridge over to Latin America and Canada as well.” Coway expects its premium product quality and superior customer service to lead them to success in the U.S. Every Coway water filtration system has won certifications from WQA (Water Quality Association) and NSF; Coway bidets use filtered water for better cleansing than any other competitors' models; Coway air purifying filters are fully customizable according to consumer's specific needs. Also, Coway's 24/7 Service, guaranteed arrival within 2 hours upon request, ''No-tip” service, etc., embody its customer-oriented operation philosophy. For this purpose, CS Doctor's (Customer Satisfaction Doctors/Technicians) will visit customers on a regular basis, providing customers convenience and building trust for Coway brand. As for the water filtration systems, service schedule will be tailored according to individual customer data including family size, water usage, and water quality rating around the area. In 2007, Coway will establish the nationwide network of 12 Korean dealerships along with 6 sales agencies around Los Angeles area. Also, Coway expects to expand its sales network to large home appliance stores such as Sears and Costco by placing consistent marketing efforts into mainstream B2B market.

Furthermore, Coway will participate in K/BIS conference at Las Vegas Convention Center on May8 - 10, showcasing one of the biggest show booths at the event. Coway aims to serve 100,000 Korean-American customers and reach #1 in U. S. market share for each product line within 3 years. The success story of Coway brand in Korea and other Asian countries seems to continue in the United States as well.
